PERMITS & APPLICATIONS

Starting work in a natural perennial stream without a required 310 Permit is a violation of Montana law.
Penalties may include:
A misdemeanor charge and fine
Civil penalties for each day the unauthorized alteration continues
Requirements to repair or restore the affected stream
Additional responsibility for work completed outside an approved permit
If you’re unsure whether your project requires a 310 Permit, use Gilly to see which permits may apply to your project. If you still have questions, contact your local Conservation District before beginning work.

Gilly helps you complete Montana’s Joint Application and other permit forms available within the platform.
You can also use Gilly to work on multiple permits for the same project, helping keep your project information together instead of starting from scratch each time.
